How RTT Therapy Can Help Heal and Transform Addiction

RTT Therapy for Addiction

Understanding Addiction from an RTT Therapy Perspective

Addiction, at its core, isn’t simply a habit that can be broken with willpower alone. It is frequently a coping mechanism for deeper issues. Many clients I work with have turned to substances, behaviours, or patterns to numb pain, ease stress, or escape uncomfortable emotions. This coping mechanism often stems from negative beliefs formed in childhood or other significant life experiences. For instance, some people may grow up in environments where they feel inadequate, unloved, or unsafe, and over time, they develop addictions as a way to self-soothe or find comfort.

Addiction can take many forms beyond substances—compulsive behaviours like gambling, shopping, food, or even work can all become addictive in the brain, providing short-term pleasure while leaving deeper issues unaddressed. RTT Therapy for Addiction helps clients understand that their addictive behaviours are not signs of weakness, but rather a response to underlying pain or unmet needs. RTT Therapy, or Rapid Transformational Therapy, uses hypnotherapy to access and rewire the subconscious mind, helping clients break free from these cycles by addressing the source of their addiction.

How RTT Therapy for Addiction Works

RTT Therapy, developed by Marisa Peer, combines hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming, and cognitive behavioural techniques to quickly and effectively address issues rooted in the subconscious mind. With RTT Therapy for Addiction, clients are guided into a deeply relaxed state, where they can explore their subconscious beliefs, memories, and experiences that fuel their addictive behaviors.

In this state, clients gain insight into why they turn to addiction, often realizing that the behaviors were ways to manage unresolved emotions or fill unmet needs. Through RTT Therapy, I work with clients to identify the “triggering” beliefs and moments in their lives that initially set the stage for addiction. For example, a client might discover that their addiction began as a way to escape feelings of loneliness or self-doubt that developed early on.

Once these root causes are identified, RTT Therapy then uses therapeutic techniques to reframe and rewrite these beliefs. In the case of addiction, the goal is to help clients see themselves as whole, loved, and capable individuals, free from the need to use substances or behaviours to feel complete. Through RTT Therapy, clients are empowered to rewire these beliefs, changing their perspectives and building healthier patterns.

Breaking the Cycle: How RTT Therapy for Addiction Provides Freedom

One of the most powerful aspects of RTT Therapy is that it doesn’t simply aim to manage symptoms; it aims to resolve them at the root. By addressing addiction on a subconscious level, RTT Therapy goes beyond short-term relief, creating lasting change and breaking the cycle of dependency.

Consider a client who struggles with alcohol dependency. Through RTT Therapy for Addiction, we might uncover that their drinking began as a way to cope with social anxiety or a deep-seated feeling of inadequacy. In a typical RTT session, we would work together to trace back these feelings and reframe them. Rather than seeing themselves as “not enough” or needing alcohol to socialise, the client begins to internalise a new, supportive belief that they are confident, valued, and capable of connecting with others.

After several sessions, clients often report a sense of relief and freedom they hadn’t thought possible, feeling that their desire for the addictive substance or behaviour diminishes significantly. This isn’t because they’re using willpower, but because RTT Therapy for Addiction helps them recognise that their addiction was rooted in false, outdated beliefs that no longer serve them.

The Transformative Power of RTT Therapy for Addiction

RTT Therapy for Addiction is effective for a variety of dependencies—from substance abuse to behavioural addictions like gambling, eating disorders, or shopping. Because RTT works by accessing the subconscious mind, it is uniquely suited to target the emotional and psychological roots of addiction. Rather than merely providing coping strategies, RTT Therapy helps clients understand that their addictions are neither weaknesses nor identities, but conditioned responses that can be changed.

This process often involves clients reconnecting with their inner child and nurturing the parts of themselves that have been hurt or neglected. In this safe, relaxed space, clients can let go of the shame and guilt surrounding their addiction, replacing it with compassion and understanding. This compassionate approach is key in RTT Therapy for Addiction, as many clients experience newfound self-worth that empowers them to create healthier, positive habits.

Creating Lasting Change Through RTT Therapy for Addiction

One of the most rewarding parts of working with clients through RTT Therapy for Addiction is seeing them develop a renewed sense of self. As clients release old beliefs and patterns, they often begin building lives that align with their authentic selves. Instead of feeling trapped by addiction, they can pursue their passions, form meaningful relationships, and experience life with clarity and intention.

In addition to individual RTT sessions, many clients benefit from listening to personalized recordings designed to reinforce positive beliefs and support their ongoing transformation. These recordings, created as part of the RTT Therapy process, help clients maintain a sense of focus and resilience, grounding their commitment to themselves as they continue on their journey.

Why RTT Therapy for Addiction Is a Game Changer

RTT Therapy for Addiction is a transformative approach that recognises addiction as a symptom rather than a standalone issue. By addressing the beliefs and emotions that fuel addiction, RTT empowers clients to free themselves from the need to rely on substances or behaviours for relief or fulfilment. Rather than focusing solely on managing addiction, RTT Therapy helps clients rebuild their inner worlds in a way that makes freedom from addiction a natural and sustainable outcome.

For anyone struggling with addiction or feeling stuck in cycles of dependency, RTT Therapy for Addiction offers a powerful way to heal. By diving deep into the subconscious, RTT Therapy provides a pathway to freedom, helping clients understand their worth, rewrite their beliefs, and embrace a life without addiction. If you or someone you love is seeking a lasting, transformative solution for addiction, RTT Therapy may be the key to beginning a journey of true healing and self-discovery.

Hypnosis for Therapy- What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis for therapy (Hypnotherapy) uses the state of hypnosis to reprogram the subconscious mind.

Hypnotherapists are trained to guide a client safely into the state of hypnosis. Everyone can go into the state of hypnosis. It is a natural state. Every time you watch television or a movie on a screen, you go into the Alpha brain wave state. This is the state of hypnosis.

People also drive in the state of hypnosis frequently. Im sure you have had the experience of arriving at your destination not remembering the drive. This is because your sub conscious mind has driven the car.

A person enters a hypnotic state when their brain wave moves from Beta (waking state) to Alpha or Theta (the state in between being awake and being asleep). When we are in the state of hypnosis we are highly suggestible, i.e. the subconscious mind picks up new suggestions easily.

This is where using hypnosis for therapy is very powerful. The Hypnotherapist finds the subconscious programming (core beliefs) that are keeping a client stuck. Core beliefs are often picked up in childhood. In the first 7 years of a child’s life, the brain is highly suggestible. If they experience thoughts and strong painful emotions over and over, these form core beliefs.

The brain is always moving us away from pain towards pleasure. As an adult you may not need the brain to protect you anymore however due to the Reticulating Activating System (the brains risk management system) it still acts as if you are a child.

This is whether using hypnosis for therapy (Hypnotherapy) is so powerful. The Hypnotherapist finds the subconscious programming that is not serving the client anymore and replaces it with positive suggestions.
